History

7th round (188th overall), 2005 by CHI

2005-06: Charlebois enjoyed a superb rookie season with UNH, earning regular duty on the Wildcats blueline. The Potsdam, NY native racked up five points (two goals, three assists) in 32 appearances. His plus-7 ranked second on the team. Charlebois’ first collegiate point came back on December 3, 2005 when he scored the game-winner in UNH’s 4-3 win over St. Lawrence.

2007-08: Charlebois completed his junior season at the University of New Hampshire, posting a career-high nine points in 38 games. However, his reliable defensive game is what stood out the most. Charlebois had a +26 rating, which was tops on the team, and was also named Hockey East’s “Best Defensive Defenseman.”

Talent Analysis
Charlebois is a very smart, hard working two-way defenseman. He has good size and uses his body quite effectively in playing his position and going up opposing forwards. Two qualities that set Charlebois apart from many rookie defensemen are his tremendous hockey sense and the smart defensive decisions that he has demonstrated. Rarely can he be found caught out of position. He follows and anticipates plays remarkably well. He has great on-ice vision. Charlebois possesses good poise and patience with the puck and will jump into plays. He’ll get involved offensively but will do so without sacrificing his defensive responsibilities. He is a good skater with very smooth strides and is quite mobile. While Charlebois has demonstrated that he can be physical, it is the one area where he could more assertive.
Future

Signed a contract with Rockford of the AHL in spring of 2009.
